First-Time Yacht Charter: Questions Every New Renter Asks

If you've never chartered a yacht before, most of the uncertainty comes down to a handful of the same questions — here they are, answered directly.
Do I need a boating license?
No — every charter comes with a licensed captain and crew. You're a passenger, not the operator, regardless of experience.
What's actually included in the price?
Captain, crew, fuel and safety equipment. Catering, decorations and specific add-ons like water sports or a custom cake are separate — see our catering guide and cake page for those.
How far ahead should I book?
For a standard weekday, a few days' notice is usually fine. For weekends, peak season or specific events like New Year's Eve, book weeks ahead — see our seasonal guide for timing.
What if I don't know which yacht to pick?
Message us with your group size, occasion and budget rather than trying to compare the whole fleet yourself — we'll narrow it down to a few good options.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes on eligible bookings — see our Tabby installment guide for how that works.
